Russia has warned that European plans to increase drone production and supply to Ukraine are pushing Europe closer to direct involvement in the war.
The warning came from Russia’s defence ministry, which said several European Union countries are expanding their drone manufacturing and export capabilities to support Ukraine’s military efforts. Moscow described this as an escalation of the ongoing conflict.
According to the ministry, it has identified and listed multiple factories and industrial sites across Europe that are allegedly involved in producing drones or related components for Ukraine. These locations reportedly include facilities in countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, and Israel.
Russian officials said the release of such information is intended to show European citizens the extent of their governments’ involvement in the war. The ministry claimed that these production sites are contributing directly to Ukraine’s military capabilities.
The statement added that increasing drone supplies to Ukraine could drag European nations deeper into the conflict and raise security risks across the continent.
Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, also commented on the issue. He said the published list of facilities could be seen as potential targets for Russian forces in the future.
He warned that any further escalation would determine whether strikes on such sites could eventually become a reality, suggesting heightened tensions between Russia and European countries supporting Ukraine.
The comments come amid continuing fighting in the war in Ukraine, where drone warfare has become an increasingly important part of military operations. Ukraine has been relying heavily on both domestically produced drones and equipment supplied by its Western allies.
