Haifa, Israel – At least two people have been killed after an overnight Iranian strike hit a residential building in the northern Israeli city of Haifa, according to local media reports.
Emergency teams recovered two bodies from the rubble of a six-story apartment building that was heavily damaged in the attack. Rescue operations are still ongoing, with authorities searching for at least two individuals who are believed to remain missing beneath the debris.
Earlier, Israeli military officials said that four people had been unaccounted for following the strike. Brigadier General Elad Edri, chief of staff of Israel’s Home Front Command, confirmed in a video statement that several residents were trapped inside the building after it collapsed.
In addition to the fatalities, multiple আহত residents were pulled from the site and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been fully disclosed.
Rescue crews have continued working through the wreckage, using heavy equipment and search techniques in an effort to locate survivors. Authorities say the situation remains critical as the search enters its next phase.
The strike is part of escalating hostilities between Iran and Israel, raising fears of further civilian casualties as tensions intensify across the region.
