China says US-Iran ceasefire remains fragile, calls for united global response

China has warned that the ceasefire between the United States and Iran is still unstable and could break down if tensions rise again in the region.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi made the remarks during a phone call with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. He said the immediate priority is to prevent any return to fighting and to keep the ceasefire in place.

Wang urged countries to act together and oppose any steps that could weaken the truce or escalate the situation further. He stressed the need to protect the current pause in fighting and avoid actions that could restart the conflict.

He also called for closer international cooperation to maintain stability and reduce tensions in the region.

China said it supports a greater role for Pakistan in helping encourage dialogue and ease tensions between the two sides. It added that Beijing is ready to contribute to diplomatic efforts aimed at preventing further escalation.

The statement comes as global concern continues over the durability of the ceasefire, with many countries closely watching the situation for any signs of renewed conflict.
