Drone Attacks in Sudan Kill 2 and Injure Dozens, MSF Says

At least two people have been killed and 56 others injured after a series of drone strikes in Sudan’s Darfur region, according to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

The group said five drone attacks were carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces, hitting civilian areas during ongoing fighting in the country.

Sudan has been in conflict for years between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. MSF said the latest attacks show a serious risk to civilian lives as the war continues.

The organisation called on all sides to respect international humanitarian law and protect civilians, saying hospitals are already under heavy pressure.

The United Nations human rights office has also warned about a rise in drone attacks in Sudan this year. It said more than 500 civilians were killed in drone-related strikes between January and mid-March.

Children are being especially affected. UNICEF said that nearly 80% of reported child deaths and injuries in recent months were linked to drone strikes.

At least 245 children were killed or injured in the first three months of 2026, a sharp increase compared with last year, according to UNICEF data.

Humanitarian agencies continue to warn that the conflict is worsening, with civilians facing increasing danger as fighting expands across different regions of Sudan.
